Man crashes Jaguar into building after passenger bites his ear

A man giving an acquaintance a ride to his mother’s house told police his passenger "freaked out" and bit him on the right ear as he was driving shortly before 10 p.m. Monday night, police said.

The 56-year-old driver struck a median at Mission and Harry, jumped a curb and crashed his 2002 Jaguar into a dentist’s office at 6505 E. Harry, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s east of Woodlawn in southeast Wichita.

The crash sent both men to the hospital, Lt. James Espinoza, but their injuries weren’t serious. The driver doesn’t want to press charges against the 28-year-old man that bit him, Espinoza said.

The passenger was under the influence of something at the time of the attack, but police haven’t determined what it was.
