Sedgwick County collects 514 pounds of expired, unused medications

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office collected 514 pounds of expired or unused medications over the weekend as part of the annual national effort.

The Sheriff’s Office collected the medications Saturday at several sites in the county. This was the ninth annual “National Take Back” initiative sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

It’s held in cooperation with local law enforcement around the country as a safe way to dispose of medications.
