Wichita police give more details in fatal Sunday stabbing; two arrested
Wichita police have arrested two people in connection with an early Sunday morning homicide, according to a news release from Officer Paul Cruz.
At about 1:25 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the Emily Apartments in the 1900 block of South Broadway, Lt. Jeff Gilmore said during Monday’s media briefing.
When officers arrived, they found a man with trauma to his head and abdominal area in the parking lot, Gilmore said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was stabbed once in the stomach area before two suspects left in a vehicle, police said. Investigators are still working to identify the man and let his family know, Gilmore said.
During the investigation, police learned there had been a fight between the man and two other men, Davidson said. One person took out a knife and stabbed the victim, Gilmore said.
A 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested, Davidson said.
Jail records show that Alan Price and Valerie Wilson were booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Center on Sunday afternoon in connection with the homicide.
The homicide is still under investigation.
