Hutchinson child dies after being pinned by flat-bed trailer ramp
Police officers were called to a residence in southeast Hutchinson on Sunday afternoon on a report a child had been pinned underneath a flat-bed trailer.
The incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m.
A 4-year-old child was rushed by Reno County emergency services to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, where the child was later pronounced dead, according to a release issued by the Hutchinson Police Department.
The trailer had been parked in the yard of a residence but wasn’t attached to a motor vehicle. According to the release, the ramp of the trailer fell on the child, pinning the child between the tailgate and the ground.
No foul play was suspected in the incident, although the case is still under investigation.
The Hutchinson Fire Department also responded to the scene.
