Sedgwick County sheriff's deputy struck while on a traffic stop in east Wichita

A Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office deputy was struck while on a traffic stop late Saturday night in east Wichita.

The deputy stopped a vehicle just before midnight on Saturday near 10500 E. Harry, according to a release from the office.

Another car struck the deputy's patrol car, which then struck the deputy, according to the release. The deputy was outside the patrol car at the time of the accident.

The deputy was taken to the hospital and has a broken leg. The driver of the car that struck the deputy's car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
