Frost advisory issued for parts of Kansas
While Wichita and Sedgwick County will see temperatures in the low 40s overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, portions of central and northwestern Kansas may experience early morning frost.
The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for Reno, Barton, Lincoln, Ellsworth, Wilson, Ellis, Trego, Grove and Logan counties and parts of Nebraska.
The advisory is in effect from 3 to 9 a.m. Tuesday with temperatures expected to fall into the mid-30s, said Jaclyn Ritzman, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Wichita. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
“It’s going to have the possibility of impacting plants that people may want to cover,” she said. “It could be approaching around 34 degrees. But with all the moisture we have had, we could see frost.”
