Sobriety checkpoint set to begin Saturday night

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint this weekend.

The checkpoint will run from 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Dan Oliver said in a prepared statement. The exact location is not being released.

Motorists suspected of intoxication will be given field sobriety tests at the site of the checkpoint, Oliver said.

“All efforts will be made to limit the interruption of traffic flow, but many drivers will be stopped as part of this program,” he said in the statement.
