His son wished for snow, so this Kansas father granted it

Bear Franke desperately wanted to play in snow during the holidays. The 6-year-old asked his dad to make the impossible possible and a business was born.

After doing some research Toby Franke created a snow machine for his son. “I grew up with a lot of snow and I want him to have it,” Franke said.

He is hoping to perfect the mixture of compressed air, compressed water and perfect weather to bring snow to his west Wichita yard and others who might also want to see some of the white stuff.

Franke has created a snow-making company called Snow Bros where he will create snow for hire. His goal is to be able to put his snow on a yard in a few hours.

Franke doesn’t think he’ll get rich with his idea but would love to just be able to pay for the equipment. “During the holidays when it was cold and dry I would’ve paid for somebody to come out and make snow,” Franke said.

Wednesday was Franke’s fourth attempt at making snow. The perfect conditions to make true fluffy snow are: 27 degrees or below, not windy and dry.

Bear Franke squeals and gets excited every time he wakes up to his father’s fresh snow. He makes snow angels and slides around their front yard on a sled. “There’s something magical about it,” his dad said.
