. Wichita Eagle

Two people have been hurt — one of them potentially critically — in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in northeast Wichita.

The collision occurred at 3:35 p.m. on K-254 at Webb Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. A 46-year-old Wichita man who was driving west on K-254 turned left to head south on Webb Road when his Suzuki SX4 was hit by a Dodge Ram truck coming east on K-254.

The two occupants of the Suzuki, the driver and a 7-year-old boy who was his passenger, were taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. The driver’s injuries were initially reported as potentially critical, while the boy’s injuries were reported as less serious.

The accident report stated he was properly restrained in a booster seat.

Wesley Medical Center refused to give updated condition reports on the two injured people on Wednesday night.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Benton, suffered a possible injury, according to the highway patrol. But additional information was not available.
