Sedgwick County deputy, one other receive serious injuries in crash

A Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy is being treated for serious injuries resulting from a car accident Saturday afternoon in Park City.

The female deputy, whose name and age have not been released, was driving north on North Broadway when her vehicle was struck by a car heading west on East 85th Street at 3:55 p.m.

David Hundley of the Kansas Highway Patrol said it appears the westbound driver failed to yield at the stop sign.

Hundley said that at the time of the crash, the deputy was driving to an injury accident at the intersection of East 101st Street North and North Broadway with her lights and siren on.

The other driver involved in the accident was also being treated for serious injuries.
