Jeep crashes into guardrail on I-135, injuring three

A 30-year-old woman is in critical condition after her Jeep hit a guardrail near I-135 and Second Street shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said.

Two other people in the vehicle were seriously injured, the dispatcher said.

The 30-year-old woman and the two victims – one woman in her 30s and one man in his 30s – were transported to Wesley Medical Center, the dispatcher said.

According to the dispatcher, the 30-year-old woman sustained injuries to her head.

“From what we know, the vehicle crossed over several lanes and hit the median wall,” Wichita police Sgt. Paul Duff said. “We tried to get statements from the driver, but we couldn’t get much from her because she was in a lot of pain.”
