Turkey is toast after fryer catches fire in garage
One Wichita family will have to come up with another plan for a holiday meal.
The deep fat fryer they were using to cook a turkey caught fire in the garage of their home shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South Volutsia, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 3:25 p.m. and fire crews were at the house within a couple of minutes. They made quick work of the fire in the detached garage.
