A man died Monday morning after apparently shooting himself in the leg and then crashing while trying to get to a hospital, police said.
Authorities learned of the shooting after responding to a collision at about 8:40 a.m. involving three vehicles in the 1900 block of North Tallyrand, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s southwest of 21st and Rock Road.
Kenneth Richards III, 28, accidentally shot himself in the upper left thigh in his car, Espinoza said. He lost control of his vehicle while trying to get to a hospital and crashed, striking numerous vehicles after he lost control.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death, Espinoza said.
No other injuries were reported, Espinoza said.
