2 adults displaced after house fire in Wichita

Two adults were displaced after their attic caught fire Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported at around 7 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Water, near Harry and Broadway. One resident said she saw sparks coming from a heating unit. Their dog was found safe and put in the backyard.

Battalion Chief Sid Newby said crews saw fire and smoke from the attic when they first arrived, but were able to quickly extinguish the flames. The cause is under investigation.
