Accident in western Kansas claims life of 2-year-old Texas boy

A 2-year-old Texas boy was killed Sunday morning in an accident in Meade County in western Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, the boy was riding in a 2001 Chevy Suburban westbound on Meade County Road V. As the vehicle was traveling around a curve, the driver lost control and went into a ditch and rolled, shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The boy’s name was Felipe James Tomas.

The driver’s name is Vicente Tomas-Tino, 34, from Friona, Texas. Another passenger was Isabel Solis-Gomez, 23, from Friona, Texas.

None of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seat belts.
