Police ask for public’s help in solving Twin Lakes robbery

Wichita police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday afternoon near 21st and Amidon, in the Twin Lakes area of Wichita.

Police were called to the Payless Shoe Store in the 2100 block of N. Amidon shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release sent to local media by Officer Charley Davidson of the Wichita Police Department.

A store employee — a 19-year-old woman — told police that an unknown man had come into the store and indicated he had a gun. Money was given to the man who left the store, fleeing in a dark green 1990s model 4-door car.

No injuries were reported.
