KBI agents on Monday arrested a former eastern Kansas jailer on suspicion of unlawful sexual relations.

Lexington J. Laiter, 27, was arrested at about 6:30 a.m. at his home in Garnett, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a news release. Laiter, the KBI said, allegedly committed the crimes while he was working as an employee of the Anderson County Jail in Garnett. He was employed there from February 2013 until he was fired in December 2016.

Laiter is facing 11 counts of unlawful sexual relations and two counts of attempted unlawful sexual relations, the KBI said. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office asked the KBI to help look into the allegations lodged against Laiter in January.

He was booked into the Osage County Jail after his arrest Monday morning.
