Police plan DUI checkpoint this weekend

Wichita police will conduct a DUI checkpoint this weekend.

The checkpoint will be somewhere within city limits from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, Officer Charley Davidson said. Law enforcement officers will stop motorists and check for their driver’s license, proof of insurance and proper seat belt usage.

Anyone showing signs of being under the influence will be detained for further investigation, Davidson said.
