Q. How would you lead the city as mayor?

A. Before you can be a leader you have to be a good follower and an intense listener. I would ensure that the mayor’s office continues to practice one-on-one listening sessions employed by previous holders of the office to address individual voter concerns. I would also work to establish regular (quarterly) community forums by the city council to take city-wide input on city-wide issues.

Randy White

Age: 56

Occupation: Tooling NC programmer, Spirit AeroSystems

Education: Associate of arts degree, Cowley County Community College

Experience: Derby City Council, four years; Derby Planning Commission, two years

Phone: 316-788-1969

Email: rgwhite58@cox.net

Q. How would you lead the city as mayor?

A. The mayor is just one part of a big team. As mayor I will work with the city council members and city staff to continue to make Derby a wonderful place to live, raise families and do business. The mayor’s responsibilities include supporting our various boards and commissions to maintain and grow our city.
