Leonard Pitts Jr., a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper columnist and author, will visit Bethel College in September.

Pitts’ lecture, titled “What Now? America in the Age of Trump,” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in Memorial Hall on the campus of Bethel College in North Newton. The event is free.

His appearance is part of the 30th-anniversary celebration for the Kansas Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution at Bethel.

Pitts won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for commentary. His column is carried in The Wichita Eagle and on Kansas.com.

Pitts is the author of three nonfiction books, including “Becoming Dad: Black Men and the Journey to Fatherood,” and three novels: “Before I Forget,” “Freeman” and “Grant Park.” He will sign books following his talk.
