Power outage affecting southeast Wichita

Westar Energy is reporting multiple power outages in southeast Wichita affecting about 1,500 customers.

The affected area includes McConnell Air Force and Spirit Aerosystems and part of the Oaklawn neighborhood.

The outages were first reported around 4:30 p.m., a spokeswoman with Westar Energy said.

There is no word yet on how long the area may be without power or its cause.
