Q. Why are you running for office?
A. This is two-fold; I want Wichita to be the place where my children and grandchildren will WANT to stay obtaining good solid employment. Secondly, I believe all government needs to be held by people with morals, values and common sense, along with a high level of transparency to the people.
Q. What do you see as the city’s role in creating and retaining jobs?
A. Supporting and encouraging Wichita State University’s Innovative Campus. Empowering our local businesses with reasonable regulations and support. Improving quality of life while keeping the cost of living low so that existing businesses can grow and the city can attract new businesses that will want to stay in Wichita.
Q. How can the city prepare for future drought and water shortages, and what should it do to pay for that?
A. Because of so many factors to this issue, I am continuing to listen to several options and cannot clearly answer this yet.

Q. Why are you running for office?
A. When I was appointed to the Park Board nearly eight years ago, I began to develop a better understanding of how our city operates, its opportunities and limitations. I’m sure most of us can agree this is a great community to raise a family. My desire is to see it continue to be a great place not only for my children but for generations to come.
Q. What do you see as the city’s role in creating and retaining jobs?
A. At its best, the city works to create an environment in which all firms have a chance to thrive. Reduce taxes for all companies by growing the tax base. Limiting the tax burden for start-ups and growing businesses improves their chances of succeeding and continued expansion.
Q. How can the city prepare for future drought and water shortages, and what should it do to pay for that?
A. Recognizing that drought and water shortages are not a Wichita-only problem is the first step. We must get neighboring communities to the table to help find and fund solutions. Expanding the ASR over time as money is available. Reduce amounts taken from Cheney and draw more from the wells in the Equus Beds.
