Wichita man, 20, dies in K-254 collision

A 20-year-old Wichita man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on K-254 Thursday night, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. at K-254 and Webb Road, near Bel Aire, according to a highway patrol report. Nathaniel Watkins, 20, was traveling north on Webb when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out into the intersection.

His 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse was struck by a 2012 Scion traveling east and driven by a 45-year-old El Dorado man. Watkins died at the scene. The driver of the Scion was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where he was in fair condition on Friday morning.
