Bicyclists can learn the rules of the road and the proper use of bike safety equipment with Wichita police bike patrol officers for free on Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the department will be hosting a bicycle safety clinic at Walmart at 5475 N. Meridian.

In addition to the clinic, kids and adults can participate in a free bicycle course to test their skills with the help of bicycle patrol officers, said Officer Charley Davidson, a spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. To participate in the course and clinic, you must bring your own bike.

There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs and water sponsored by Walmart available for participants. The Wichita Fire Department and Police Department will have learning displays and children’s activities. The police mounted unit will also have their horses on display.
