40 violations ticketed during seatbelt saturation patrol
A Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office saturation patrol focusing on seat belts resulted in 40 violations of various sorts Friday night, authorities said.
Five reserve deputies made 42 traffic stops between 6 and 10 p.m., Lt. Lin Dehning said. They wrote 27 adult seat belt violations, four driver’s license violations, two tag violations, five insurance violations, one equipment violation and one window tint violation.
They also issued eight warnings, Dehning said. The saturation patrol was in addition to the normal patrol duties handled by sheriff’s deputies.
