More construction is set to begin in Wichita this week, according to a Kansas Department of Transportation news release.

A project to repair two southbound I-135 railroad bridge decks south of 29th Street will begin on Monday, the release said.

The entrance ramp from 29th Street onto southbound I-135 will be closed until the project is completed, which is expected to be sometime in December.

One lane will also be closed along 29th Street in the area and southbound traffic on I-135 will be reduced to two 10-foot lanes. The speed limit along I-135 near the work will be reduced to 50 mph, the release said.

The project was contracted to Wildcat Concrete Services out of Topeka with a price tag of about $1.15 million, the release said.
