Oklahoma man was victim in fatal crash near Parsons
The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified a 63-year-old man killed in a Labette County collision earlier this week as Daniel R. Morey of Warr Acres, Okla.
Morey was in a car struck head-on by a Chevy Silverado as he was driving west on Highway 400 near Parsons at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the highway patrol said in an online crash report.
The Chevy, which was traveling east on the highway, crossed the center line and collided with the car as Morey tried to avoid it.
The Chevy then “was launched into the air, turned nearly 180 degrees and landed on all four wheels partially on the grass,” according to the report. Morey’s car stopped in a grassy area next to the road right-side up.
The 21-year-old Huntsville, Ala., woman driving the Chevy and her 56-year-old passenger, a Riverton man, were hospitalized.
