I-135 rollover blamed on driver’s lane change, KHP says
An 18-year-old woman hospitalized after her vehicle rolled several times on I-135 in Wichita on Monday morning is OK.
Jaedin N. Goodwin, of Wellington, was southbound on the highway when another driver “conducted an unsafe lane change” while merging from 85th Street North and struck the Chevrolet Blazer she was in at about 11:40 a.m., the Kansas Highway Patrols said in a crash report.
The impact caused Goodwin to lose control of the Blazer, which then veered off the road into a median and flipped before landing in the east ditch.
Goodwin was taken to Wesley Medical Center with injuries. Wesley spokeswoman Susan Burchill said in an e-mail Tuesday that she was treated and discharged following the crash.
The other driver, 20-year-old Austin Kruckenberg of Valley Center, was not hurt, according to the crash report. He was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu at the time of the collision, the highway patrol said.
