Boy run over in south Wichita mobile home park

A 5-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he was run over in a south Wichita mobile home park Saturday night, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the Glen Acres mobile home park in the 500 block of East 50th Street South, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. That’s just east of Broadway and south of 47th Street South.

The collision occurred inside the mobile home park, the dispatch supervisor said, adding that the boy’s injuries are not critical.

Emergency radio communications between the ambulance and the hospital revealed the boy was struck at about 20 miles an hour and was knocked under the vehicle. He suffered abrasions to the left side of his forehead and has pain in his left hip, but never lost consciousness.
