Man seriously injured while trying to flee Kansas Highway Patrol trooper

A 31-year-old man was seriously injured early Monday morning when he crashed his motorcycle while attempting to flee from a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper, authorities said.

The trooper attempted a traffic stop at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg at the Oliver exit, a highway patrol dispatcher said. The rider sped away, prompting a pursuit that didn’t end until the biker crashed at Harry and Hillside shortly before 12:30 a.m.

He was taken to Wesley Medical Center with potentially critical injuries, the dispatcher said. More information on the incident is expected to be released later Monday morning.
