Retired Presbyterian minister, author to speak on gun violence
The Rev. James Atwood, a retired Presbyterian minister and author of the book “America and Its Guns: A Theological Expose,” will speak in multiple sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100 W. 15th St.
According to a news release, Atwood has been encouraging his audiences to consider the cost of gun violence since 1975. He is a hunter and National Rifle Association member, according to the release.
The author is touring Kansas and Nebraska all this week “to share his vision of that world and how it would address what he considers to be a health care crisis in our country,” according to the release.
