Earthquake centered near Kansas-Oklahoma state line

An earthquake that happened at 3:39 p.m. on Monday registered a magnitude 3.3 and was about 20 kilometers from Caldwell, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It occurred at a depth of 7.5 kilometers.
Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans, and damage is not likely in earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
