Small plane crashes next to El Dorado airport with no injuries
A small plane crashed just north of El Dorado’s airport Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The plane went down in a field just north of the airport at 10:43 a.m., according to a Butler County emergency dispatcher. The two people aboard the plane were not injured.
It’s unclear if the plane crashed just after takeoff or as it was coming in for a landing, the dispatcher said. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol are at the scene investigating the crash.
The multi-engine plane is a 1966 Cessna 310 co-owned by Lakepoint Aviation in Augusta and Cornejo Aviation, according to the FAA's website.
