Crews respond to Wichita fires
A heat lamp placed in a dog house led to a house fire in north Wichita on Tuesday.
Wichita Fire Department Battalion Chief Stuart Bevis said in an e-mail that the Red Cross was called in for three adults that lived in a home in the 2700 block of North Erie. The fire was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
Bevis said an investigation into the fire showed that the accidental blaze originated in a dog house where a heat lamp had been in use. The dog house contained straw and wood chips.
