Fog disrupts Monday morning commute
A young male driver was uninjured after the car he was driving rolled just west of Wichita early Monday morning amid foggy conditions.
A call for the one-vehicle crash along West 23rd Street in Goddard came in around 7 a.m. Police scanner chatter initially indicated that the 16-year-old male might be trapped inside the car.
According to 911 dispatch, the mteen was able to get out of the car and was not hospitalized. A white car was seen on its side along West 23rd, about a half-mile from the Wichita city limits, just after 7:30 a.m.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call. A crash along eastbound Kellogg just west of downtown also slowed the morning commute for some drivers.
Dense fog was seen in some areas around Wichita early Monday, leading to a fog advisory from the National Weather Service in Wichita.
