Where can you get free firewood and mulch? At the zoo
You can pick up free firewood and mulch at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
Firewood and mulch from the city of Wichita and a Westar Energy tree-trimming program are dropped off daily at the zoo, according to a news release.
You can pick up the firewood and woodchips to use as mulch now through February from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the north parking lot of the Sedgwick County Zoo, 5555 W. Zoo Blvd.
Residents are asked to not use chainsaws, splitters or any mechanical equipment while picking up the firewood.
For questions about wood delivery, call 855-937-8275.
