Free diabetes risk assessments at YMCA locations in Wichita

The Wichita Eagle

Four YMCA locations in Wichita will offer free diabetes risk assessments during November for National Diabetes Awareness Month.

People can also take an online risk assessment for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes at YMCA.net/diabetes. That site contains information about diabetes and the YMCA’s prevention program. For information about the Greater Wichita YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, call Debbie Cruz at 316-219-9622 ext. 5566, or email her at debbie.cruz@ymcawichita.org.

More than one-in-three Americans have prediabetes, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But only one-in-ten people with prediabetes know they have it.

Four locations in Wichita will host risk assessments this month.
