Four YMCA locations in Wichita will offer free diabetes risk assessments during November for National Diabetes Awareness Month.
People can also take an online risk assessment for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes at YMCA.net/diabetes. That site contains information about diabetes and the YMCA’s prevention program. For information about the Greater Wichita YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, call Debbie Cruz at 316-219-9622 ext. 5566, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
More than one-in-three Americans have prediabetes, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But only one-in-ten people with prediabetes know they have it.
