Annual Crime Commission banquet set for next week
The Wichita Crime Commission will hold its annual awards banquet next week.
The 63rd annual banquet will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Wichita Airport. The keynote speaker for the dinner at 6:45 p.m. will be Koch Industries senior vice president Mark Holden, who will talk about criminal justice reform.
Among the award winners who will be recognized are Wichita Police Officer Larry Carlson as Crime Prevention Officer of the Year; Michele Zauner of USD 259 as Citizen Activist of the Year; Mike Sweeney as the Humanitarian Award recipient.
Terri Moses, executive director of USD 259 Safety Services, has been tabbed Criminal Justice Professional of the Year; Wichita Police Officer Renay Bryand has been chosen Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and Julie Dombo has been named Citizen Hero. Hesston Police Chief Doug Schroeder was selected as Law Enforcement Hero of the Year.
