Motorcyclist dies after crash at Pawnee and West

A motorcyclist died Tuesday after a crash at Pawnee and West, according to Sgt. Nikki Woodrow, of the Wichita Police Department.

As of noon Tuesday, Woodrow said roads near the accident remained closed, but she did not know exactly what sections were diverted.

Sedgwick County dispatch said it received a 911 call about the accident Tuesday at 10:05 a.m.

Dispatch said the accident reportedly involved a motorcycle and dump truck. Woodrow said the police department’s report officially called it a tractor-trailer with an attached dump bed trailer.

Woodrow said investigators are investigating the scene and how the accident occurred.
