Wichita State’s McKinley Hall temporarily evacuated after machinery overheats
A piece of machinery overheated Monday evening in Wichita State University’s McKinley Hall, causing an evacuation of the science and chemistry department building.
The evacuation occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. and lasted about 20 minutes, said Joe Kleinsasser, WSU’s director of news and media relations.
A Sedgwick County 911 dispatcher said smoke had been reported on the fourth floor of the building.
