Andover names new city administrator

Mark Detter is expected to become the new Andover city administrator beginning next month, according to a news release Monday from the city of Andover.

Detter is currently the vice president for Central States Capital Markets and serves as vice president on the board for Leadership Butler. He is a former city manager for Rose Hill and assistant county administrator and finance director for Butler County, according to the release.

Detter was chosen from a group of 30 applicants. He is originally from Seattle and received his undergraduate degree from Southwestern College in Winfield and his masters in public administration from Wichita State University.

A contract will be finalized with Detter and the Andover City Council at the council’s Feb. 24th meeting, the release indicated.
