Fire damages Eastborough house
Wichita fire crews handled a fire that damaged a large Eastborough house midday Monday.
No one was injured, said Battalion Chief Sid Newby.
A preliminary estimate of damage to the structure alone: $30,000.
Firefighters will remain on scene to make sure it doesn’t flare back up, he said.
The two-story house is on Highland, just northwest of Douglas and Woodlawn.
It wasn’t clear whether someone was home when the fire began, Newby said.
A cause had not been determined.
