Man shot at while dumpster diving
A man who went dumpster diving early Saturday was shot at six times and broke his leg, Wichita police said.
The man, 35, told police he went looking in the dumpster in the 1000 clock of South Woodlawn about 3 a.m., said Wichita police Sgt. Wendell Nicholson.
Two men in a four-door sedan drove up and fired six shots, the man told police. The man being shot at tried to climb over a wrought-iron fence, fell, and broke his leg, Nicholson said. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of the broken leg. No one was hit by gunfire, Nicholson said.
The victim had no idea who shot at him, Nicholson said.
