Drive-by shooting reported, but no victim found
Police received a report of a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of South Silverdale in southeast Wichita on Friday evening and found evidence of shots fired — but no victim and no suspects, police Sgt. Mark Jackson said Saturday.
A person reported the incident at about 6:45 p.m. Friday after seeing a man walking down the street and then seeing a vehicle stop alongside him. The person reported that four to five shots then came from the vehicle, Jackson said. Police arrived and found evidence of a shooting but not any people who would have been involved, he said.
