Trust Women Foundation receives $100,000 for direct care
Trust Women Foundation, a Wichita-based abortion-rights group, announced Monday that it received a $100,000 grant from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock in New York.
Trust Women Foundation opened the Trust Women South Wind Women’s Centers in Wichita, 5107 E. Kellogg, and in Oklahoma City.
Those locations are the only clinics that provide surgical abortions in their respective cities. The clinics offer other health care services as well.
Trust Women Foundation said in a news release that it will use the grant for direct services.
“This grant will help us directly fulfill our mission – to open clinics that provide abortion care in underserved communities so that all women can make their own decisions about their health care,” Julie A. Burkhart, founder and CEO of Trust Women, said in a release about the grant.
