Wichita gas prices fall 5 cents a gallon
Wichita gas prices fell nearly 5 cents in the past week to an average of $1.99 a gallon in Wichita on Sunday.
That’s according to GasBuddy.com’s daily survey of 185 gas stations in the city.
GasBuddy said Sunday’s price was about 35 cents lower than the same day a year ago.
The national average decreased fell 2 cents in the past week to $2.13 a gallon, GasBuddy said.
An 11.8 percent increase in gasoline inventories are leading the downward trend in prices, a GasBuddy analyst said.
“(They) will continue to be a thorn in the side of refiners and a boost for consumers as a seasonal downturn in gasoline demand is on the horizon after Labor Day,” Will Speer, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst, said in a news release Monday.
