Wichita gas prices are the highest they’ve been. But how do we compare?
Wichita sits at a $4.49 average in unleaded gas prices — the highest recorded price in the city, according to AAA — and there’s no sign it will go down anytime soon. Sedgwick County is averaging $4.50.
Although those sound high, other Kansas counties are being hit harder.
Decatur County is the highest at $4.81 per gallon. Following closely behind are Haskell County at $4.76, Wallace County at $4.75, Morton County at $4.73 and Greeley County at $4.70.
Comanche County takes the crown for the lowest at $4.29 per gallon, followed by Harper County at $4.35 and Rice and Reno Counties at $4.37.
Overall, Kansas’ state-wide gas average was at $4.50 on Tuesday, almost two dollars behind the USA’s highest gas price average, which is $6.37 in California.
These numbers are updated daily on AAA’s website. You can check on the latest gas prices in Wichita and across Kansas here.
