Sedgwick County COVID positivity rate hovers under 10%. See latest data on cases
Sedgwick County’s COVID-19 positivity rave was hovering under 10% headed into the News Year’s holiday weekend.
The rate, which accounts for reported positives over the total number administered, was at a 9.34% positive test rate as of Dec. 30, according to the Sedgwick County COVID-19 dashboard.
The county reported 14 new positives Dec. 29, and 63 the day before. This is a 0.3% increase since the data from Dec. 26.
According to the CDC, the COVID-19 community level of Sedgwick County is low. The CDC scores every U.S. county weekly (low, medium or high) based on new cases, new hospitalizations and the percent of COVID-occupied staffed hospital beds.
Data from CDC show the county sees a weekly case rate of 90.69 per 100,000 individuals.
Cases are lower at this time in 2022 than the prior year: 755 people in the county had reported new cases Dec. 29, 2021, compared to 93 the same day in 2022.
