Wichita State launches COVID-19 dashboard that shows testing, cases

A Wichita State University COVID-19 dashboard released Wednesday shows 35 students out of 1,555 have tested positive — making the percent of positive cases 2.25%.

Results were collected starting Aug. 3 and last updated Aug. 28, according to WSU’s dashboard. The information was collected by WSU’s Student Health Services, where testing is mainly limited to students who have symptoms or were exposed to someone with the virus, the site says.

The dashboard will be updated weekly.

The data does not include staff and students who tested elsewhere. WSU says it has adopted practices to alert people who may have been exposed.

The University of Kansas also has a dashboard that shows 464 students and nine staff have tested positive. KU has a positive rate of 2.18%, while its Greek community has a rate of 10.01%.

Kansas State University also has a dashboard available. It shows there have been 3,322 tests and 479 cases among students and staff, leaving a positive rate of 14.41%.
