Have a question about your coronavirus stimulus check? Now you can call the IRS
With options few and far between, taxpayers have been trying to find ways to seek answers about their coronavirus stimulus checks with little to no avail – until now.
On Monday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that it has begun adding 3,500 telephone representatives to “answer some of the most common questions” about their stimulus checks.
However, assistance will remain limited.
“IRS telephone assistance and other services will remain limited, and answers for most of the common questions related to Economic Impact Payments are available on IRS.gov,” the statement reads. “The IRS anticipates bringing back additional assistors as state and local advisories permit.”
The website advises to check out the frequently asked questions page, which is updated regularly, according to Forbes, before requesting to speak with a live person.
If you need to speak with a live person, please call the phone number that’s listed on your stimulus check: 800-919-9835.
